What is an Event Amplifier anyway?

by | Aug 18, 2010

I have been reflecting on this issue recently as my role emerges and takes on a more coherent shape.  As a concept, the amplified conference has been around since 2007, but the role of a professional event amplifier is relatively new.  It can often be tricky trying to sum up exactly what it entails, as it can be different for each event.

This short presentation is the result of my musings so far.  It is by no means exhaustive or technical, but I think sums up the main functions of an event amplifier…

I’d be really interested to hear any views on this or any other suggestions about what being an event amplifier should be about, at a high level.  I’d be particularly interested to know if this helps any event organisers out there, or if there is anything useful they would like to see an event amplifier offer.
